Connecting an Audiobookshelf server takes its address and your login on that server. This page walks through the connect screen and what happens right after. Mobile app
Before you connect
You'll need your server already running, plus:
- Its Server URL — the web address you use to reach it, including the port if it needs one (for example,
http://192.168.1.10:13378). - Your Username and Password on that server.
Your phone needs to actually be able to reach the server — on the same network, over Tailscale, or through whatever remote access you've set up for it.
Connect your server
Enter your server URL
Type in the address exactly as you use it to reach the server. Tap the icon beside the field to check that Squabble can reach it before you go further.
Enter your username and password
Use the same login you use to sign in to Audiobookshelf directly.
Tap Unlock the shelves
Squabble contacts your server and signs you in. If something's wrong with the address or the server can't be reached, an error explains what to check.
What happens after connecting
Once connected, tap Browse Library to see everything on your server. From there you can search, open any book's details, and download it into your Squabble library — covered in Browsing and downloading.
Disconnecting
You can disconnect from your server at any time. Doing so doesn't delete anything you've already downloaded — it just means Squabble can't reach that server for new downloads or re-downloads until you reconnect.
